Question 1
Which publicly discussable capability or support journey is being studied?
Safer lives. Better care. More choice.
Explore this pillar ›National security and strategic resilience supported by evidence and institutional capability.
Study preparedness, continuity, workforce capability and whole-life support through appropriate public-safe evidence. Do not publish sensitive vulnerabilities or infer readiness from spending or announcements alone. Institutional authority and authorised review are essential.
Which publicly discussable capability or support journey is being studied?
What maintenance, training and continuity arrangements sustain it?
What can the available evidence safely establish, and what remains restricted?
Data reference table
Read each value with its reporting period, population and limitations. A historical national reference is not a local baseline or proof that an IFT proposal works.
5 source-linked reference records. Publication checks do not independently reproduce the underlying data.
| Signal | Reference Value | Period / Population | How to Read It | Source Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reported defence export value | ₹23,622 crore Historical reference | FY 2024–25 India; defence exports reported by MoD | A national sectoral export-value reference. Limitations: Nominal value, not physical volume, profit, technology independence or operational preparedness. It does not establish a particular firm’s performance or an individual district’s exports. | Ministry of Defence / Department of Defence Production Official government release Defence exports in Financial Year 2024-25 Published: 2025-04-01 Publication checked: 2026-11-04 Value, period and coverage checked in publication |
| Defence export authorisations issued | 1,762 authorisations Historical reference | FY 2024–25 India; Department of Defence Production export authorisations | A count of permission-processing outputs, distinct from export shipments. Limitations: An authorisation is not proof that a shipment occurred, revenue was received or compliance and end-use checks succeeded. Not a procurement-approval count. | Ministry of Defence / Department of Defence Production Official government release Defence exports in Financial Year 2024-25 Published: 2025-04-01 Publication checked: 2026-11-04 Value, period and coverage checked in publication |
| Indigenous defence production value | ₹1,27,434 crore Historical reference | FY 2023–24 India; DPSUs, other public defence manufacturers and private companies reported by MoD | A historical national industrial-output reference for the stated completed fiscal year. Limitations: Nominal production value is not readiness, stock availability or wholly domestic input content. FY 2024–25 figures differ across later releases and are deliberately not substituted into this row. | Ministry of Defence Official government backgrounder Make in India Powers Defence Growth Published: 2025-03-29 Publication checked: 2026-11-04 Value, period and coverage checked in publication |
| MoD contracts signed | 193 contracts; ₹2,09,050 crore total stated value Historical reference | FY 2024–25 India; MoD contracts reported in the official backgrounder | Contract commitments indicate procurement activity during the year. Limitations: Signing is not cash expenditure, completed delivery, equipment availability or procurement quality. The figure should not be treated as a readiness score. | Press Information Bureau / Ministry of Defence information Official government backgrounder Defence Atmanirbharta: Record Production and Exports Published: 2025-11-20 Publication checked: 2026-11-04 Value, period and coverage checked in publication |
| MoD contracts awarded to domestic industry | 177 contracts; ₹1,68,922 crore total stated value Historical reference | FY 2024–25 India; domestic-industry subset of MoD signed contracts | Separates domestic-industry contract awards from the all-contract total. Limitations: This is a subset of the 193 reported contracts, not additional contracts. Domestic award classification is not proof that every input is Indian, that MSMEs received the work, or that delivery is complete. | Press Information Bureau / Ministry of Defence information Official government backgrounder Defence Atmanirbharta: Record Production and Exports Published: 2025-11-20 Publication checked: 2026-11-04 Value, period and coverage checked in publication |
Different surveys, administrative records, estimates and reporting years are not interchangeable. No combined IFT score is calculated from these rows.

Study publicly safe lessons from tested backup arrangements for critical civilian functions.
Keep sensitive vulnerabilities out of public records; readiness needs authorised assessment.

10 questions and answers
It can examine publicly appropriate capability, support systems, continuity and accountable planning. It should not expose sensitive operational detail or exploitable vulnerabilities.
Expenditure records show resources used. Readiness needs appropriate evidence of capability, trained people, maintenance, supplies and continuity under the conditions being assessed.
Identify the critical function, responsible authority, dependencies, backup and recovery arrangements. Keep publication at a level that does not create additional risk.
Equipment and infrastructure need trained people, service support and resources over time. A delivery announcement does not establish that these arrangements are functioning.
Study suppliers, quality, repair capacity, critical inputs and replacement options. A public review should distinguish documented capability from ambitions or procurement announcements.
Identify the function, input, source concentration, alternatives and recovery constraints at a safe level. Record uncertainty rather than assuming every dependency has the same risk.
Discuss governance, responsible teams, continuity and safe reporting processes. Do not crowdsource or publish technical vulnerabilities that could enable harm.
The relevant responsible institution must establish authority, scope and safeguards. A concept on this website does not authorise operational testing or access.
Study civilian services, lawful responsibilities, consultation and remedy alongside resilience. A security objective does not by itself establish that every intervention is appropriate.
Use authorised findings on capability, continuity, safety, cost and maintainability. State public-evidence limits and leave restricted conclusions to the responsible institutions.
